Subscriber statuses explained

What subscribed, unsubscribed, bounced, complained, and pending mean for a subscriber in TinyCourier, and what to do about each one.

Every subscriber has a status that tells you whether they can receive your emails. Here’s what each one means, in plain English.

Subscribed ✅

The normal, healthy state. This person opted in and receives your campaigns. This is who you’re sending to.

Pending ⏳

They signed up but haven’t confirmed yet. They get one confirmation email and join your list only after clicking the button inside it. This is part of double opt-in. If someone’s stuck here, they may not have clicked the confirmation, check their spam folder, or resend.

Unsubscribed 🚫

They opted out, or you unsubscribed them. They stay in your account (so you keep the record) but won’t receive campaigns. You can’t simply flip them back to subscribed; they’d need to opt in again themselves. This protects you legally and respects their choice.

Bounced ⚠️

Their address couldn’t be delivered to, usually because it doesn’t exist (a typo or a closed account). We stop sending to bounced addresses automatically to protect your reputation. Learn more in Why emails bounce.

Complained 🛑

They marked one of your emails as spam. We automatically stop emailing anyone who complains. A few complaints happen to everyone, but keep an eye on it; lots of complaints hurt your inbox placement.
